Highly Qualified Teachers
No Child Left Behind requires that all teachers hired to teach core academic subjects in a Title I school or program meet certain requirements. In general, teachers must have full certification, a bachelors degree and demonstrated competence in subject knowledge and teaching.
Parents may request information regarding the qualifications of classroom teachers and assistants providing instructional support to their children. Principals will maintain a list of teachers, para-profressionals, and their qualifications.
